Always Best FAQs

1 - Do I pay the caregivers directly?

No.  When you hire Always Best Care for your loved ones needs you pay the agency directly.  We then pay the caregivers and handle all their related cost obligations which include payroll taxes, workers compensation, liability insurance, continued training and all restaffing needs.

2 - Are your services covered under insurance?

Currently the only insurance that covers our services is Long Term Care Insurance.  LTC policies are a separate insurance policy that you can get from a local insurance agent.  It is best to go to an individual that specializes in LTC policies so that you have the correct coverage in place when you need it.

3 - Is Always Best Care Licensed with the State of Connecticut?

Yes we are.  In fact all reputable Home Care Agencies are licensed through the Department of Consumer Protection.  When inquiring about services be sure to ask the Agency you are contacting if they are Licensed, Bonded and Insured.  Also ask if their caregiver staff are their employees and not independent contractors.  You do not want to have any payroll tax issues by hiring a caregiver on a contractor basis.  At Always Best Care our caregivers are licensed, bonded and insured.  They are our employees, so we handle the hiring, training, background checks, staffing, payroll taxes, workers compensation and liability insurance coverage.

4 - What is the training and educational background of your caregivers?

All of our caregivers are either a Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Home Health Aide (HHA).  During the hiring process they need to pass our skills evaluation test before they are allowed to continue the application process.  We also have mandatory ongoing training on several home care topics.

5 - What if I don't like my caregiver?

While we try to match our caregivers skills and personality to our clients, sometimes the match just isn't right.  If this should happen all you need to do is contact our office and we will begin the process of replacing your caregiver.

6 - I am coming home from the Hospital/ Rehab facility with Visiting Nurse Services (VNA). Do I need additional support from a Home Care Agency?

Yes you do.  It is important that all of your needs are being met especially if you are still have physical therapy at the house.  VNA services are for a limited time and usually on a flexible schedule with little to no consistency.  Our staff can assist you with any personal care needs you may have along with general home assistance such as laundry, meal preparation, and errands.
